Work Stress & Mental Health: When to Seek Help

We all get stressed at work. A tough boss, endless deadlines, or a chaotic meeting schedule. But not everyone realises that it’s part of life. Sometimes, it’s not “just stress.” It starts affecting your sleep, your mood, even your relationships. That’s when we’re stepping into the territory of mental health.

I’ve been there myself, and I’ve coached people who ignored the signs for too long. The truth? Stress becomes dangerous when it goes from being a temporary pressure to a daily weight you can’t shake off.

The Line Between Stress & Strain

Stress in short bursts can motivate you. But when it turns into:

  • Constant exhaustion

  • Irritability with loved ones

  • Anxiety before every Monday

  • Loss of interest in things you once enjoyed

…it’s time to stop saying “I’ll manage” and start asking for help.

Framework: The S.O.S. Check

Here’s a simple framework I share with clients to know if they should seek help:

S – Sleep: Has your sleep been consistently disrupted for 2+ weeks?
O – Overwhelm: Do you feel mentally “flooded” most of the day?
S – Social Impact: Are your relationships or personal life being hurt by your stress?

If you tick even two of these, it’s a strong signal to reach out… whether to a therapist, a counsellor, or a Life Coach.

Getting Help Doesn’t Mean You’re Weak

At Clarity Architect, I’ve seen people transform simply because they stopped carrying everything alone. Sometimes you need a safe space, someone to bring you clarity, someone who reminds you  it’s not your fault.

Whether it’s therapy for deep emotional wounds or coaching for clarity and boundaries, seeking help is an act of strength.
Remember, Stress is a whisper. Mental health issues are a scream. Listen to the whisper before it gets louder.

If you feel stuck, don’t wait. I’m Life Coach Ahsaas Verma, your Clarity Architect, and I’m here to help you make sense of the noise.
